I absolutely love gin and like to try all the different labels available in the world. April has become the month to try, taste, test, tease and tumble with classic and innovative gin-based drinks. April offers the chance to use some Dutch courage as we enter spring, or even allows you to learn a little more about the juniper berry and how gin evolved to become a delicate balance of subtle flavours.
The three big gin-tastic events of the month are hosted by some of the best bars London is home to.
Graphic showcases an enviable gin collection and inspiring urban art. On the 4th of April Graphic Bar in Soho is opening its doors for what will be an after-school club experience. The Original Plymouth Gin will be top of the gin league on the night, leading an informative gin tasting class and encouraging great gin-based discussions for enthusiasts and novices alike.
Last Libations – Bourne and Hollingsworth Buildings
April is B&H’s special gin month where they’ll be running an extensive series of interesting events around the current revival of the ancient art of foraging, with the help of Glendalough Distillery. On the 11th of April you’ll find conversations taking place about the Glendalough Distillery and their very own foraged ingredients that combine to create their bespoke spirits. Learning about history, techniques and flavours is always a great way to further indulge in the world of gin.
The Graphic Gin Off – Graphic Bar
On the 18th of April you’ll find sixteen of Graphic’s favourite and highly-esteemed gin brands battling it out in The Graphic Gin Off 2016. This annual event takes place with a tournament that sees many of the most loved brands from around the globe get together and enter into a friendly and fun fuelled competition. Guests will have the chance to try an innovative cocktail from each brand and then cast their vote for who they think is a strong contender. Make sure you book your tickets!
