Pisa wasn’t on the itinerary but I couldn’t stand being so close to such a historical site and not be able to see it. So instead I worked magic with the Italian I’ve learnt over the past year and got myself on a train and a couple of buses. I had the company of a lovely and hilarious Australian couple I had met and the journey to Pisa was great with them.
Not one of us expected the sight we saw. I honestly wasn’t ready for it and couldn’t believe it. Some people have magic in their hands:
Yes, I had to do the whole touristy ‘being crushed’ by the Leaning Tower of Pisa. If you go to see this, you’ll believe that miracles can happen. Unlike me, you should wear appropriate footwear to reach the top; I felt like I was going to slip and slide to my death with heeled boots.
