Launched only a few months ago, Number 90 hosts many events, including DJs and great nights for locals. This summer they have the addition of La Terraza, hopefully bringing the Mexican heat to Hackney Wick along with their delicious food and frozen margaritas.
Located in Hackney Wick, steeped in what seems to be the core of creativity and expression, the road to Number 90 is easily found if you follow the art on the walls. Some call it graffiti, others call it art but whatever the label we give it’s an expressive form – showing the true talent and creativity that resides in Hackney Wick.
This form of expression is also accentuated by Number 90’s commissioned mural welcoming you to the entrance. It’s hard to miss. La Terraza has bought its tenacity for using El Jimador tequila to Number 90’s outdoor terrace. Summer’s here (even if our British weather brings a slight chill with it) and sitting canal-side, with canal boats and an outdoor bar is the perfect way to spend your evenings.
For the launch event La Terraza dressed-up their outdoor bar in fun Mexican style. Keeping the night watered (tequil’ed?!) with bottomless frozen margaritas made from El Jimador tequila and a lot of lime. Flavours on the day included passion fruit, strawberry and plain cocktails. They teased our palates with classic street food such as tacos and nachos. My favourite was the chicken, beans, avocado and cabbage taco. The crunch of the food really adds to the overall Mexican themed night.
Nothing shouts ‘Mexico’ more than tasty tequila and tacos- my two favourite Ts. And La Terraza have a promising summer lined-up for you. Wednesday to Sunday you’ve got life drawing, acoustic sets, an open air cinema, bottomless margaritas and DJs. Enough to keep you entertained this June!
