Taste the crunch of gourmet potato crisps through the reinvention by HIPCHIPS. Bringing a whole new concept to the streets of Soho, HIPCHIPS serve freshly cooked hand-made chips. They are the first to kick-off this craze with their approach to sharing food. Head on down to Old Compton Street for the official opening on Tuesday 22nd November.
What better way to munch on the tastiest of snacks than to share with a load of your friends. The delicious flavoured crisps don’t come on their own. They’re accompanied by flavoursome combinations of sweet and sour fresh dips. HIPCHIPS have taken this British staple and reinvented it into something that resonates with London’s forever-growing food scene.
What To Expect From HIPCHIPS
The potatoes HIPCHIPS uses have their own unique colour and flavour. This arises from them using five heritage and vintage potato varieties. The dips and crisps have been paired with classic British and international flavours in mind by head chef Scott Davis. The dips on the menu are delicious dollops of Katsu curry, Baba Ganoush, Moroccan Yoghurt and pickled onion cheese fondue. Along with the savoury assortment, there’s also the more adventurous sweet option.
Dessert is instantly created by giving the crisps a light dusting with cinnamon sugar, matching HIPCHIP’s dessert dips, rhubarb and custard, S’mores and chocolate, and salted caramel dip. These hand-crafted crisps will be cooked right in front of you, plus a great excuse to go regularly is that the dips will change weekly and seasonally.
I’m not quite sure why anyone is still reading this and not already queuing up for the opening. Head along on the 16th of November and get a taste of what was once classically British, now distinctively one of London’s best creations.
